The diagnostic industry’s testing infrastructure was not designed to handle testing on the unprecedented scale of a pandemic. The current gold-standard RT-PCR test for COVID-19 requires a complex series of manual steps that makes costs too high, available quantities too few, and delivery of results too late.

Broad testing for COVID-19 is a critical aspect to enable people to more safely return to school, work and normal life.

The Qlife Solution

Qlife has created a unique approach to diagnostic testing specifically designed to provide rapid, affordable, high-volume testing.

To meet the needs of this pandemic, we streamlined the entire process by using both standard CE-marked PCR test systems as well as our in-licensed PCR test reagents (SIBA) combined with state-of-the-art robotics and automated liquid handling systems to dramatically increase throughput and decrease costs as compared to any existing testing solution.

 

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

 

1. Does the Qlife Test Involve a Nasal Swab or Mouth Swab? Is it a Home Test?

The test is a mouth swab similar to the ones used in the public offerings (“Hvide Telte”).  The test is painless and is administered easily by a healthcare professional. It is not an “at home” test (for “at home” test see our Egoo Small test solution)


 

2. What is Collected on the Mouth Swab?

PCR tests performed using a throat sample where viral particles are likely to be present. When someone is infected, they have genetic material from SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, in their throat, upper throat and even in lower respiratory locations.


 

3. How Quickly are Test Results Available?

Individual results are ready as fast as within 4 hours from collection at any decentral location and then uploaded to our central IT portal that can be accessed by the customer from anywhere.The IT portal is developed by Denmark’s largest IT company KMD, who also is our partner in all service aspects of providing this test solution.

 

4. What is Meant by each Category of Results With the Qlife Test?

A positive COVID-19 test means that genetic material from the virus was detected and that you currently have, or recently had, the virus. While positive results are indicative of active infection with SARS-CoV-2; your doctor should review other clinical information, your medical history and other diagnostic information to determine your infection status. Positive results do not rule out bacterial infection or co-infection with other viruses.

 

A negative COVID-19 test means that genetic material from the virus was not detected, or not detected at a high level, and that you currently do not have the virus or detectable amounts of virus. However, negative results should be reviewed by your doctor in combination with other clinical information, your medical history and other epidemiological information.

 

An invalid COVID-19 test means only that there was an issue in either the sample collection or the test processing. It does not indicate whether you may be positive or negative. If your test was invalid, you should get tested again.

 

An inconclusive COVID-19 test means that nothing can be concluded from the test (an inconclusive test occurs most frequently when low amounts of genetic material are gathered in the sample). If your test was inconclusive, you should get tested again.

2. MOUTH SWAB

3. ANALYSIS

Swabs are analysed using Egoo Large machine and SIBA technology

Sensitivity and specificity for SIBA tests is equal to tests for using RT- PCR which is the gold standard for molecular analysis
